Memorial Park is excited to welcome the LPGA Chevron Championship for the first time! The 2026 event is taking place at the Memorial Park Golf Course April 22-26.
While the tournament brings world‑class golf to our city, it also brings important temporary impacts to public access in and around the Park. Here’s what visitors should know before planning a trip during tournament week.
Park Impacts: April 20–26
During tournament week, Memorial Park will remain open to the public, but access will be significantly limited due to closures and operational needs for the LPGA TOUR event.
Memorial Park Impacts:
⚠️April 20-22: Parking lots at the Memorial Park Golf Course, Vale-Asche Playground, Sports Complex, and Tennis Center will be closed. Lots at the Fitness Center, Clay Family Eastern Glades, Picnic Loop, and Running Complex will remain open these days.
⚠️April 23-26: All Memorial Park parking lots will be closed to the public. Street parking will also be restricted, and certain road closures will be in effect. Permit or credentialed access will be required at all Park entrances off Memorial Drive during these days.
⚠️Onsite parking, sports fields, and facility rentals will not be available during the tournament. The Cullen Running Trails Center and Vibrant Café will remain open during regular hours, but their parking lots will be inaccessible.
Getting to the Park
Visitors are encouraged to walk, bike, use METRO, or utilize rideshare services during this time. Rideshare drop‑off locations may be limited due to tournament restrictions.
We encourage Park lovers to visit the many wonderful parks in Houston during event week. The Houston Parks and Recreation Department has 366 parks through the City, and maintains over 160 miles in trails. More information on them can be found here.
Additional parks nearby include Buffalo Bayou Park and the nearby Bayou Greenway trails. Running enthusiasts may also want to visit the trails at Hermann Park or Rice University.
LPGA Chevron Championship at Memorial Park
Chevron U.S.A. Inc. and the Ladies Professional Golf Association (LPGA) Tour moved The Chevron Championship to the City of Houston’s Memorial Park Golf Course for the 2026 tournament. The relocation marks a new chapter for the LPGA Tour’s first major of the season by bringing the event closer to Chevron’s new corporate headquarters and the center of downtown Houston.
“The Chevron Championship’s move to Memorial Park Golf Course demonstrates our continued commitment to growing the game of women’s golf and expanding our presence in the City of Houston,” said Laura Lane, chief Corporate Affairs Officer.
“For more than a century, Houston has been central to Chevron’s story. Collaborating with Memorial Park allows us to honor that legacy while advancing our commitment to women’s golf and giving back to the community.”
