Seymour Lieberman Trail Construction

Improvements to the Seymour Lieberman Trail (SLT) are officially underway as part of the larger Memorial Groves Master Plan project. Approximately .7 miles (3,600 ft.) of the trail will be shifted farther from West Memorial Loop Drive, creating space for new tree plantings that will provide a more scenic, shaded route for users while adding new grassy gathering areas along the trail. Construction has been planned to allow continued access to the Seymour Lieberman Trail for Park users throughout the improvement timeline.

Trail Access During Construction

The Seymour Lieberman Trail will remain open at all times during construction. Once improvements are complete, the loop will continue to offer an approximately three-mile route, providing an uninterrupted option for walkers and runners.

What to Expect

As work progresses, visitors may notice a few temporary changes along the trail:

• Water fountains will remain accessible throughout construction. If a fountain must go offline, downtime will be kept as brief as possible.
• Some benches will be inaccessible during construction.
• Free parking along West Memorial Loop Drive will remain available, ensuring continued access to the trail and surrounding areas.
• Some of the existing fitness stations will be inaccessible during construction. New expanded fitness will be built as part of the project.
