Memorial Park Conservancy’s Conservation and Park Operations teams are hard at work caring for the landscapes that make the Park thrive.
The Horticulture Team continues to maintain native garden beds, reduce weed growth, and keep blooms flourishing, while also tending to greenhouse plant grow‑out – sometimes with the help of dedicated volunteers! This month also included vine maintenance at the pergola behind the Cullen Running Trails Center to support healthy, long‑term growth.
The Native Habitat Team focused on enhancing planting palettes in key areas, including Clay Family Eastern Glades and Running Complex parking lot, prioritizing low‑growing native species that support pollinators and improve functionality. Seasonal maintenance is also underway to minimize invasive species and protect newly emerging seedlings.
Our Arboriculture Team has been monitoring tree health using specialized tools, like a resistograph, and supporting strategic tree replacement to ensure safe, resilient landscapes across the Park.
