Storm Impacts to Memorial Park

Many areas of Memorial Park suffered damage from the major storm that hit Harris County on May 16. We are thankful to our team who continue to work diligently to make the Park safe again.

Please be watchful and follow any closure signs you encounter at the Park. This is for the safety of both visitors and our staff.

Our team is doing the hard work of making your park completely accessible again. A huge thanks to the park users who are respecting the closure signs and allowing us to complete our work.

The following areas are currently CLOSED to the public:
Entire Picnic loop
Wetlands Boardwalks of Clay Family Eastern Glades
Northwest Trail (click here to see where the Northwest Trail is located)
Bayou Wilds Green Trail (click here to see where the Green Trail is located)

The following areas are currently OPEN to the public:
Roy H. Cullen Timing Track
Vale-Asche Foundation Playground
Kinder Land Bridge & Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Prairie
The entire Seymour Lieberman Trail is now open, but please stay alert of sections that still need debris removal.
Lakeside Boardwalks of Clay Family Eastern Glades
The Cullen Running Trails Center is now open and has resumed normal business hours.
All Bayou Wilds Trails are now open, except for the Green Trail.
