As the final notes of our Live at Live Oak concert series fade, we’re reflecting on an incredible four-part concert series that brought together music, culture, and community in the heart of Memorial Park. With the generous support of our presenting sponsor, H-E-B, this new series celebrate the rich diversity of Houston through performances honoring Hispanic Heritage Month, Diwali, Lunar New Year and Black History Month.
Each concert in the series was a unique tribute to the vibrant cultures that shape our city, featuring talented musicians, dynamic performances and an electric atmosphere that brought our community together in the Park.
Hispanic Heritage Month kicked off the series with high-energy rhythms of Latin America, featuring lively performances that had the crowd dancing all night!
The Diwali celebration lit up Memorial Park with a dazzling evening of Indian culture, featuring traditional and contemporary South Asian music, mesmerizing dance performances and a magical ambiance filled with light and joy.
Lunar New Year ushered in the year of the snake with the sounds of traditional Chinese instruments, lion dances and modern Asian fusion performances, offering a musical journey through the rich heritage of the Lunar New Year celebrations.
A homage to Black History Month closed out the series with an unforgettable tribute to the legacy of Black music, from jazz and blues to zydeco rhythm, honoring the artists and sounds that have shaped American music history.
