Hurricane Beryl Impacts to Memorial Park

Many areas of Memorial Park suffered extensive damage when Hurricane Beryl made landfall in Texas on July 8. The Memorial Park Conservancy team continues to evaluate the extent of the damage and is working to revive the Park.

We are thankful to our team who continue to work diligently to make the Park safe again.

Please be watchful and follow any closure signs you encounter at the Park. This is for the safety of both visitors and our staff.

The following areas are currently OPEN to the public:

The Cullen Running Trails Center has resumed normal operating hours.
The entire Seymour Lieberman Trail is now open, but please stay alert of areas that are coned off.
Kinder Land Bridge & Cyvia and Melvyn Wolff Prairie
Clay Family Eastern Glades and restrooms
Roy H. Cullen Timing Track
Vale-Asche Foundation Playground
Picnic Loop and restrooms
Commuter Trail
Sports Complex restroom
Portions of Bayou Wilds Trails are open. (View map below to see which trails are open.)

The following areas remain CLOSED to the public:

Wetlands Boardwalks of Clay Family Eastern Glades
Northwest Trail (click here to see where the Northwest Trail is located)
Portions of Bayou Wilds Trails remain closed. (View map below to see which trails are open.)

**Portions of Memorial Park’s Bayou Wilds are now open. Please see the map and refer to the dotted white lines for trails that are now safely accessible. Green, Aqua, and portions of Orange and Purple are still closed.

For your safety, barricades and signs are out blocking the trails that remain closed. Please DO NOT move or bypass any closure signs as these spaces have not yet been deemed safe. Due to storm erosion and uprooted trees, the difficulty level on some of the trails has increased. Please keep this in mind before visiting Bayou Wilds. As always, stay alert, watch your step, and respect other trail users.

Please continue to monitor our website and social media channels for updates.
