A 3-mile loop encircling Clay Family Eastern Glades and the Memorial Park Golf Course and Tennis Center, the Seymour Lieberman Trail is the most used space in all of Memorial Park.
The trail is exclusive to pedestrians who seek a scenic and tranquil environment for their exercise routines. Winding through lush greenery and shaded by towering trees, the trail offers a respite from the bustling city life.
Along the path, one can find strategically placed benches and water fountains, ensuring comfort and hydration for all its users.
What To See
RAVINE BRIDGES
To improve the experience of Park visitors on the Seymour Lieberman Trail, three Ravine Bridges were constructed in 2022 to serve as connectors for a new section of the trail. The trail is now moved away from the traffic flow on Memorial Drive and creates additional separation between trail users and automobile traffic to improve safety and provide a better Park user experience for all.
This section brings Park users through some of the most scenic and shaded areas of the 3-mile-loop. These bridges are situated above three ravines that connect to Buffalo Bayou. This area, situated amongst the trees, offers views of the Park’s native riparian landscape, further knitting together Houston’s unique and multifaceted terrain with the activities of Park users so everyone is able to enjoy Houston’s urban wilderness.
The Ravine Bridge project was delivered as part of the Ten-Year Plan, which includes a significant portion of the 2015 Memorial Park Master Plan.  Memorial Park Conservancy and its partners—Houston Parks and Recreation Department, Kinder Foundation, and Uptown Houston—are working together to deliver more than $200 million of improvements to Memorial Park by 2028.
EXERCISE STATIONS
Along the trail, you’ll find a number of exercise stations scattered along the trail. Whether you’re a beginner or a seasoned athlete, these workout stations are here to help you achieve your fitness goals while soaking in the natural surroundings.

The pull-up bars offer a challenging way to strengthen your back and biceps. Balance beams and parallel bars add an extra challenge for your arms and core.
EMILY CLAY FAMILY SCRAMBLE
On your trip to the East Mound of Kinder Land Bridge, be sure to visit the Emily Clay Family Scramble, located on the north side. Made from upcycled pavement from the previous Memorial Drive, the Scramble forms an impressive stairway leading to the bridge above Memorial Drive.
STRETCHING DECK
Located near the Tennis Center along the popular Seymour Lieberman Trail, the newly renovated Stretching Deck offers a welcoming space to meet with friends or warm up for a workout. The area now features a durable, upgraded deck, modern fitness equipment with a safety fall surface, and a shaded pergola for added comfort. Enjoy the convenience of multiple water fountains and an outdoor shower for a quick rinse. As part of Memorial Park’s commitment to sustainability, the space is now illuminated with solar-powered lights—making it a functional and inviting stop for park visitors any time of day.

The stretching deck is not a permittable space. For more on what areas can be reserved, visit our reservations page.
