What To See
HINES LAKE
Hines Lake serves as a home for local wildlife while also playing a crucial role in managing stormwater runoff into Buffalo Bayou. Surrounded by native wetland plants, the lake offers nourishment for the various species that find refuge in Memorial Park.
Water runoff from nearby parking lots flows through bioswales and into Hines Lake, where contaminants and sediment are filtered out by wetland plants. Visitors can wander along the winding boardwalks and piers that encircle the lake, immersed in the sights and sounds of this peaceful environment.
BOWDEN TERRACE
Perched gracefully above the tranquil waters of a serene lake, Bowden Terrace offers an enchanting vantage point that seamlessly blends nature and design. Its expansive, open platform is elegantly paved with smooth, natural stone, providing a sophisticated yet comfortable space for visitors to relax and take in the picturesque surroundings.
Â
For those seeking a moment of solitude or a romantic sunset, Bowden Terrace offers a perfect spot. Peer into the lake to see wildlife like turtles, ducks, frogs, and more!
