The 400-meter track features five lanes for runners and walkers and a series of stretching decks along the eastern side.
The track surface is extremely resistant to heat and cold-weather damage, which ensures it can be enjoyed no matter the forecast. On rainy days, stormwater is collected through the track and filtered through the surrounding woodlands before making its way to Cyvia & Melvyn Wolff Prairie. To ensure that the Cullen Timing Track can be enjoyed by everyone, the Park prioritizes free public access, with the possibility for reservations only available during off-peak hours.
