Group Recreation Information
Memorial Park plays an important role in Houston’s public health. Thousands of people come to the Park to run, walk, play, and enjoy the outdoors.
What requires a permit?
Groups with more than 10 people, classes that use park exercise equipment or bring their own equipment, and/or classes that charge an entrance or program fee must obtain a permit.
To apply, download and complete the Group Exercise Permit below and send to firstname.lastname@example.org. To Inquire, click here or email email@example.com. Permit requests will be considered based on the impact to the Park and park users, safety, availability, and past use of the Park. Once approved, the class will be added to our calendar and may advertise their programs through MPC channels.

Social, unpaid running clubs do not need a permit; However, we encourage social clubs to join our mailing list in order to be notified of construction updates and safety messages.

Spend your Sunday morning with Andiamo Retreats for a free hour-long beginner-level yoga class. Take time to slow down and enjoy our beautiful scenery at Memorial Park. Coffee will be provided. Please bring a mat or towel.
A four-week outdoor group fitness program for all fitness levels, designed to challenge and optimize your fitness. Whether you’re an athlete or brand new to fitness, partner with your Trainer to push yourself in a fun and challenging environment! With no two workouts the same and a different focus each week, you’ll crush your fitness goals in no time!
Our Houston FIT Programs begin in May and July. You’ll receive ability-based training, inspired coaching, and camaraderie with other athletes-in-training, not to mention the improved well-being that comes from participation in a consistent fitness program with coaches who care about your success! USA FIT Houston has over twenty-nine years of experience helping people of all ability levels live up to their mental and physical potential.
Power in Motion
A twice-yearly 10-week program aimed at training you to complete a 5K regardless of your skill level. PIM offers guidance, support, encouragement, training tips and a comprehensive training regimen for people who want to learn to run or improve their running ability.
