Run to Remember
May 26-29, 2023
On Memorial Day weekend, Memorial Park Conservancy invites Houstonians to Run to Remember. This is an open invitation to honor the memory of service members who died in, or as a result of, their military service.
When: Between Friday, May 26 and Monday, May 29
Where: The Seymour Lieberman Trail at Memorial Park
What: Run or walk one mile (or more if you choose), along the flag-lined Seymour Lieberman Trail to commemorate loved ones who have served.
Memorial Park Conservancy’s Run to Remember is not a fundraiser. The event is free and open to all who wish to participate throughout Memorial Day weekend.
Why Memorial Park? Memorial Park was founded in 1924 in memory of the service members who died during WWI. From 1917-1919, the land on which the Park now sits was Camp Logan, a national guard training base. Learn more about Memorial Park’s history here.
As the non-profit organization that manages and operates 1,100 acres of Memorial Park, Memorial Park Conservancy stewards the Park as a place of mental health and well-being, and of recreation in nature.
How: Register using the form below. Tag us in social media @memorialparkconservancy using the hashtag #runtoremembermpc. If you have a flag you want to carry, or you want to wear something patriotic, we’d love to see it. You do not have to send a photo to participate if you prefer not to do so, but we’d love to see you. Tagging us on your photos on social media will allow us to share images throughout the weekend.
We will tally the total number of miles and post the results on our social media!
